Continuing Education
Once you've attained CFP® certification, it's important to stay well-versed in comprehensive financial planning, so you can continue to serve your clients' best interests.
Get Ahead of the CE Requirement
CFP® professionals are required to complete 30 hours of continuing education (CE) each reporting period: 2 hours of CFP Board Ethics CE, and 28 hours of CE covering one or more of CFP Board’s Principal Topics. The CE requirement is effective immediately upon initial certification. Don't leave it until the last minute! Learn more about CE policies and prepare for your certification renewal.
Find a CE Program & Provide Feedback
CFP Board accepts more than 14,000 programs submitted by 1,200+ CE Sponsors annually. Once you complete your course, CE Sponsors are required to report your attendance on your behalf within 14 days.
Have an idea for how we can improve our CE programs? Let us know.
Report Your CE Credits — and Stay Renewed
Report your CE credits to stay current. And avoid the stress of leaving your renewal to the last minute by starting early! If you've already begun accruing CE credits, you can enter them in your CFP Board account.
