Standards Resource Commission
The Standards Resource Commission was formed to help develop resources that provide guidance to CFP® professionals and their firms on CFP Board’s new Code of Ethics and Standards of Conduct, which became effective October 1, 2019 and are being enforced as of June 30, 2020. The new Code and Standards includes an expanded scope of the fiduciary standard that requires CFP® professionals to act in the best interest of the client at all times when providing financial advice.
The Commission, made up of individuals from financial services firms and members of the public, has helped develop materials such as fact sheets, FAQs, videos and other documents.
