William Mann, JD
William Mann joined CFP Board as Managing Director of Adjudication in May 2024. In this role, he oversees CFP Board’s adjudication function and serves as the lead legal counsel to the Disciplinary and Ethics Commission (DEC), which hears and takes appropriate action on alleged violations of the Code of Ethics and Standards of Conduct for CFP® professionals.
Before joining CFP Board, Bill was Managing Director, Deputy Chief Counsel at Charles Schwab, serving as its head of litigation. Before that, he held positions as Special Counsel at Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP and as a partner in the Washington, DC office of Mayer Brown LLP, representing prominent individual and corporate clients in internal investigations, securities litigation and enforcement matters.
Bill holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia and a bachelor’s degree in economics, English and political science from the University of Richmond.
