Description
This is an 8-hour continuing education course for Long Term Care that is designed to help the agent benefit the client with more in-depth information regarding the uses of long term care. The course cover information concerning, what is long-term care, what services it provides, the facilities were long term care can be found. The course also goes into providing information of who pays for the coverage, the availability of insurance products and how they Long Term Care Products are designed. Also, this course covers in depth each of the policies provisions and benefits. Alternative investment choices are also discussed so the agent can help inform their clients into different investments choices that can help insured to cover the costs of the Long Term Insurance.
Learning Objectives
• Define what is long-term care/long-term services and support and describe who needs LTSS;
• Identify the layers and costs of LTSS facilities of care;
• Outline the limit of Medicare coverage for LTSS; and describe the services covered and not covered by Medicare Supplement Policies:
• Determine eligibility requirements for Medicaid;
• List the services covered by Medicaid;
• Apply the various Medicaid planning strategies using Trusts, Annuities, IRAs, and Promissory Notes; and describe the Medicaid Estate Recovery Program.;
• Describe the basic provisions of an individual stand-alone LTCI policy;
• Explain the rationale; describe the benefits; and affirm the producer training requirements for QSLTCP program;
• Explain the advantages and disadvantages of Group LTCI policies;
• List and relate alternative payment options such as Reverse Mortgages and Life Settlements; and
• Reaffirm their commitment to consumer protections such as, unfair trade practices and suitability requirements.
