CFP Board Joins Financial Planning Standards Board in Celebrating World Financial Planning Day
The Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards today joins the Financial Planning Standards Board to recognize World Financial Planning Day (#WFPD).
FPSB owns the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER marks outside the U.S. and licenses their use in 25 territories, which in turn certify more than 95,000 individuals; CFP Board owns the marks domestically and certifies more than 82,000 individuals. The two organizations work together to benefit the public by setting competency and ethical standards globally for the financial planning profession.
“World Financial Planning Day is a great time to remind consumers across the world about the value of partnering with a CFP® professional. Consumers who work with a CFP® professional are more confident that they are on track to a secure financial future,” said CFP Board CEO Kevin R. Keller, CAE. “We’re pleased to join the FPSB network once again in promoting the value of financial planning.”
During World Financial Planning Day, FPSB and its network of member organizations will provide programs to promote consumer awareness and understanding of financial planning topics, including building savings, investment planning, and preparing for retirement.
WFPD launched in 2017 as part of the global financial planning community’s commitment to educate consumers and provide them with competent and ethical financial advice to help them achieve their financial and life goals.
WFPD takes place during International Organization of Securities Commissions’ (IOSCO) World Investor Week, which is designed to raise awareness about the importance of investor education and protection.
